JORELL LEGASPI

Biography

Jorell Legaspi is one of Qatar’s most sought-after fashion and portrait photographers. Born and raised in the Gulf, and having lived in the Philippines and Africa, Jorell naturally developed a creative approach that transcends different tastes and cultures.

His career began in music marketing and media relations, working for record label, BMG Records (now Sony Music), in the Philippines. He later moved on to cultural affairs at the Alliance Française de Manille, where close ties and participation in the bustling art community inspired him to pursue photography and visual communication.

Jorell served as Head of Creative Design and Photography Services at The Art of Business, a reputed marketing communications and publishing company in Doha, Qatar. He quickly became known for contributing bold aesthetics, style and playfulness to every photography project he pursued. Taking lead as Art and Photography Director of the firm's monthly events publication, Qatar Happening, he played an important role in transforming the popular information guide into a full sized lifestyle and entertainment magazine.

Jorell is currently the Creative Head of Communications at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, the newest addition to Qatar's cultural landscape.
